13 June 2016 Dear Parent/Carer THE SCHOOL FOOD STANDARDS/MILK & FRUIT PACKAGE (Autumn Term) With effect from January 2015 new government legislation came into force regulating all food consumed in schools including Breakfast Clubs, School Lunches, After School Clubs and Packed Lunches brought from home. All our menus have been revised to meet the regulations and advice given via our weekly Noticeboard regarding what may be sent in packed lunches, in order for you to support us to meet the School Food Standards. In addition to the above Low Fat Milk must be available for drinking at least once a day during school hours, plus one or more Portions of Fruit every day. In view of this milk and fruit will be available free of charge for all Nursery, Reception and children receiving Pupil Premium (the old Free School Meals). Milk will also be available at a cost of 30p per day (£1.50 per week) to all children in Year 1 to Year 6. This may be paid for termly via ParentPay (the next term being 14 weeks would mean a payment of £21.00 due on or before 4th July 2016). A piece of complimentary fruit will also be available to children taking up the offer of our milk package in KS2 (KS1 already receive free fruit). Unfortunately we would be unable to give credit for any missed days. If parents of Year 1 to Year 6 children would like to take advantage of the milk package for their child please would you be kind enough to make your payment on ParentPay on or before 4th July 2016 (look for ‘Milk Package – Optional Autumn 2016’). Parents of children in Nursery, Reception and receiving Pupil Premium (the old Free School Meals) don’t need to order or pay as they will automatically receive the milk and fruit. PLEASE NOTE: Your order will not have been placed until you have made your payment on ParentPay and the DEADLINE for opting in for the Autumn Term is Monday 4th July 2016. If you miss the deadline for the Autumn Term you will have the chance to opt in for the Spring Term in November. If you think your child may be entitled to Pupil Premium (the old Free School Meals) and therefore receive free school meals, milk, fruit and assistance with uniform please contact the Benefits Office on 0845 245 8000. Kind regards Mrs Pell & Mrs Long The Admin Team
19th May 2016 Dear Parent / Carer, VISIT Lytham, St Anne’s. DATE Tuesday 5th July. Arrive at school as normal, returning to school for approximately 5pm. During next half term, the topic we are studying is ‘Beachcombers.’ In order to get the most out of this topic and to celebrate all the hard work the children have been doing, we are travelling to Lytham, St Anne’s where we can spend some time at the seaside. Children will create some sand art and look for sea shells and interesting pebbles. We recognise that all visits involve a cost but we do feel that they are extremely worthwhile. Visits are only possible with your support and cannot go ahead without the essential finance. The cost per pupil will be £11.90 to cover the coach and will include an ice cream with a flake. In order for your child to participate please pay via ParentPay by the 14th June, this will also constitute consent. Each child will require: - A school uniform - A packed lunch (no glass bottles or sweets, please), preferably in a carrier bag for easy disposal. - Suitable footwear and weather appropriate accessories, e.g. sun hat. We are able to offer a packed lunch – consisting of sandwich, carrot/cucumber sticks, piece of home-made cake or biscuit, piece of fruit and a drink for all children in receipt of ‘Pupil Premium’ and Universal Infant Free School Meals. If you would like school to provide a packed lunch for your child as above please email: firstname.lastname@example.org before Wednesday 21st June 2016 at the very latest, otherwise we will assume that you are providing a packed lunch for your child. Any travel sickness tablets should be given before children come to school. Tablets for the return journey should be in a named container/envelope and should be handed to an adult for safe-keeping. Thank you, The KS1 team.
