About the Teacher
I am an RQT (recently qualified teacher) in my second year teaching year 5. This is my first time teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 and cannot wait to get to know the children and staff at Bradshaw. My favourite thing about teaching is watching the children achieve their targets and feel proud of themselves for these achievements.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with friends and family, spending time at the gym and going to Zumba!
We have a class of 24 children; 12 boys and 12 girls. Every morning we arrive at school at 08:45am and every school day starts with completing our morning activities - including guided reading, book tests and responding to marking in our books. Monday and Wednesday mornings consist of two maths blocks – this enables us to strengthen our understanding of the topic and put our newly learned skills in to practice. Tuesday and Thursday mornings consist of two English blocks – allowing us to spend longer talking the text before going off to write our own versions of the style being looked at. Friday mornings consist of spelling lessons and tests and looking over any areas of the curriculum that we feel need a bit of a boost! The afternoons are taken up with Science, Computing, Humanities, Languages, Handwriting, RE/SEAL and Art & DT.
Things to remember
Reading books should come home with children on a regular basis, if not every night.
PE is on Thursday, so please ensure your child comes to school with the correct kit. Homework is handed out on a Friday and needs to be returned by the following Thursday for class marking and addressing of misconceptions.
If you would like any further information please feel free to ask!
