The Lost Tomb

Team: Archaeologists

Client: The Cairo Museum of Egyptian Antiquities

Commission:

1) To excavate a recently discovered tomb.

2)To open the tomb, record what’s inside and find out who the tomb belonged to.

3)To remove and research the items found in the tomb.

4)To create an exhibition of the objects for the museum

 

b) After entering the tomb and climbing down a long staircase lined with many wall paintings, the team found a door, its handles tied shut with a strange knotted rope.

c) The team researched the artefacts that were found.

d) The team made replicas of the artefacts.

e) Using drama to create and make meaning of wall paintings.

f) Adding hieroglyphics to the paintings.

g) The team debate whether to follow the instructions of The Cairo Museum of Egyptian Antiquities and open the tomb. Having considered both sides of the argument, the team prepare their cameras in order to document what is found.

h) The team document the layout of the tomb.

I) The team carefully collect the artefacts.

j) Learning about the mummification process through drama.
