Working together to achieve our goals

Welcome to Respect Class

Welcome back to a very busy and exciting Autumn term.

We have been delighted with the way in which your children are enjoying being juniors and rising to the challenge of being more independent.

Respect class will be having their PE and Run a Mile sessions on Wednesday afternoon. Please can you make sure that  your child(ren) come dressed appropriately for both indoor and outdoor PE.

Thank you.

Homework – Respect Class homework is always sent home on Friday and due in the following Wednesday.

Spellings – Respect Class spellings are given out every Friday. To assist your child with learning we endeavor to put the spellings weekly onto Spellodrome.  The spelling test will take place on Friday morning. Most children will come home with a Spelling Log book most day with words to work on from their daily spelling lesson.

Maths - The children will be tested on their times table knowledge every Friday, please use TT Rockstars to help. Additional maths homework linked to what we have been learning in school will be sent home every week either on MyMaths or on a sheet.

Reading - It is very important that the children continue to read every night and the information is recorded in their Reading Record Log.

Topic Homework – Every half term, your child will receive a homework ‘menu’ linked to the topic they have been studying over the half term. This should be completed over the holiday and returned the first week back .

Book bags should be brought into school every day.

Autumn 1

We have been using the Mantle of the Expert approach to learn about the Stone Age. We became characters of a Stone Age Tribe, we stayed in our characters – hunted and gathered food, made jewellery, imagined creating tools, created cave art and cooked Stone Age Food.
